Léonore Baud, winner of the Fondation

The Musée Jenisch is keen to support artists from the region and is exhibiting for the first time the winner of the Alice Bailly bursary.

After the death of the artist Alice Bailly, the Alice Bailly Foundation was created in accordance with her wishes. One of its main objectives was to award an annual grant to support young visual artists living in French-speaking Switzerland. The first grant was awarded in 1951. Since then, it has been awarded to artists working in the fields of painting, drawing, sculpture or printing arts (printmaking, engraving, serigraphy, lithography, mixed media).

Alice Bailly 2022 bursary

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in photography and a Master’s in cinema (ECAL, 2008), Léonore Baud, winner of the Alice Bailly 2022 bursary, is an artist from Lausanne who questions image and representation.

Save Our Ship

Through four installations, Save Our Ship explores the uncertain, the loss of bearings, the tenuous thread between life and death. Thirty-seven images of ocean and sky, suspended cocoons, a ghostly apparition and abstract calligraphies convey fragility but also repair, in a deeply sensitive and moving approach.
