The Musée Jenisch Vevey is hosting the first stage of a touring project that focuses on contemporary printmaking. PRINT ART NOW celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Zurich-based association Edition VFO (Verein für Originalgraphik), which publishes limited edition prints in direct collaboration with artists. Printmaking is still too often considered a secondary medium, yet it offers unique forms of artistic expression and contributes significantly to the development of contemporary art.
The exhibition at the Cabinet cantonal des estampes addresses the fundamental notion of the series through a selection focused on the most recent productions of Edition VFO. The presented works, which vary in motifs, techniques and formats, reveal a wide range of forms and concepts that allow the artists to oscillate between tradition and experimentation to renew contemporary printmaking.
A Cabinet cantonal des estampes exhibition curated by Anne Drouglazet, David Khalat (Edition VFO Managing Director) and Valérie Hashimoto (Edition VFO Research Associate), to be seen in the Pavillon de l’estampe.
