A doctor and collector, Pierre Decker (1892–1967) dedicates his life to the practice of medicine and to his passion for two of the greatest printmakers in Western art : Dürer and Rembrandt.
To mark the publication of a major work devoted to this eminent professor and surgeon from Lausanne, the cantonal prints collection is offering an opportunity to rediscover this prestigious ensemble. The exhibition reveals the vision of a collector with a particular eye for beauty.
Bequeathed to Lausanne University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1967, the Pierre Decker holdings have been deposited with the cantonal prints collection since 1988.
